Welcome To Our School

Dear Visitor,

Welcome to the website of Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School which provides an insight into life at the school. Through the website you are able to access an abundance of articles, news stories, photographs and documents on a wide variety of areas, with contacts details and links for further information should this be required.

We have a long and proud tradition of success from the original Dronfield Grammar School, endowed in 1579 by Henry Fanshawe, to the present day, attaining notable achievements across a spectrum of subjects and aspects of education. Sustained success over time is a strong feature of our proud history, with the website highlighting many of these accomplishments.

We firmly believe in our motto of ‘success with care’ and deliver this through our framework, structures and daily practices. Our aim is to provide excellence in all areas of our work with young people so that they may move forward, ready to take their rightful place in society as citizens of the 21st century.

We believe and ensure that every member of our community matters and is valued for the unique contribution they make to our school. We welcome and celebrate diversity. We also challenge all within our community, adults and students, to give their best at all times in an environment where commitment outweighs compliance.

Students are provided with both challenge and support in order that they may achieve their full potential across a wide range of curricular and additional opportunities. Our support for students with particular talents is well established and thriving with numerous opportunities for them to undertake activities geared to their particular area(s) of excellence alongside their academic work.

The Student Council is a very important feature of our school and offers a real chance to provide the “Student Voice” with elected Ministers and Ambassadors working under the leadership of our Head Girl and Head Boy along with their senior team.

We recognise the critical importance of the Home-School Partnership and the vital role that Parents and Carers play in the education process. We are committed to upholding our part of the Home-School Agreement and to engaging with all stakeholders to work in partnership towards further development of our school as a “Centre of Excellence”.

As a community, we are proud of our school and the tremendous young people who make the place what it is. Their commitment, dedication, hard work and positive attitude creates the special ethos that is Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School, elements of which are encapsulated within this website.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to “Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School Online”.
