A new club proved really popular amongst students interested in learning Chinese. Currently Mandarin Chinese is spoken by over 1 billion people around the world, about one fifth of the global population; Each year more and more students around the world whose mother tongue is not Mandarin are studying it with enthusiasm and success. Learning a second language opens up the opportunity for being part of a community with a different culture, and learning more about the world around us. It was great to see so many students attend this club to have a taste of this language.
