Our Year 8 boys football team show great drive, commitment and a real determination to succeed and in doing so have excelled and achieved something that no other team has done at our school.

Last year they performed extremely well and were crowned Year 7 County Champions in the summer after a season of hard-work, skill and togetherness. This year they have achieved even greater heights. Not only do they have a great chance of retaining this crown, but within the national competition they put together an amazing run as they took on all-comers in the England-wide competition and made it to the semi-finals. Although they heartbreakingly fell at this hurdle, they have done unbelievably well in reaching the last four schools of a national competition.
We are incredibly proud of the students in the team and the staff that have been with them every step of the journey. The camaraderie, support and commitment to each other was superb. A professionalism, a resilience, a positivity and a can-do ethos has been on display. This really has been an historical achievement for the school, and we are simply bursting with pride.
The whole school community look forward to watching how this team perform and develop over the coming years.
If this story has inspired you to take part in any of the extra curricular activities that the school has to offer, details can be found here. There are many sports clubs on offer, but also a vast array of other activities and clubs. Students are always very welcome to join in.
