Latest Successes – Engineering Challenge

A group of students travelled to Liverpool to tackle a real world challenge. The challenge set was: ‘Research and use thermal imaging and temperature measurement to provide monitoring for potential safety applications.’

After exploring several creative ideas, the team chose to develop a Temperature-Based Security System – a smart, mobile, and privacy-conscious solution that uses thermal imaging to detect unexpected personnel in a space, helping to enhance workplace safety and security. Their prototype impressed everyone with its functionality, adaptability, and thoughtful design. Even when faced with setbacks, the team showed resilience, collaboration, and engineering excellence, and it paid off! DHFS students won the People’s Choice Award on the day, voted for by all the visitors!

Huge congratulations to the team, your innovation, teamwork, and passion for engineering is inspiring.

We look forward to seeing how you continue to innovate and inspire!
