Earlier this year Dronfield Medical Practice decided to refresh some of the art within the surgery. Below is what Dronfield Medical Practice had to say:
We wanted to give local school children an opportunity to showcase their creativity and exhibit their work, so we approached Dronfield Henry Fanshaw School with the idea to hold an art competition. We decided to give the children an open brief – just entitled ’The Peaks’.
Our partners personally funded a £10 gift voucher for each child who had a painting selected to hang (15 in total), and a overall winner, who would win a £100 gift voucher.
In early December, Mr Metcalfe kindly delivered over 60 beautiful pieces of children’s work to us. We were absolutely stunned by the technique, detail and talent on show.
The DMP team, including the Patient Participation Group, got together to look through them and it was clear to us that a lot of care and effort had been put into each and every one. We have many difficult challenges at the moment in the NHS and choosing which paintings to hang was another one. We all had personal favourites but luckily we were eventually able to agree on the final 16.

Well done to all the students who took part in the competition.
