Exam Contingency Days Summer 2026
The awarding bodies have collectively agreed a contingency day for several years now which is always scheduled at the end of the GCSE, GCE AS and A-level exam timetables.
The contingency day is in the event of national or significant local disruption to exams in the United Kingdom, being part of the awarding bodies’ standard contingency planning for exams.
Following the Covid-19 pandemic, further resilience was needed within the exam timetables.
For the June 2026 exams the contingency sessions will be:
Wednesday 24th June 2026(all day)
Students should remain available up to and including Wednesday 24th June 2026 should examinations need to be rescheduled.
Results Days
- Summer Exams Results Dates
- A Level , AS Level, BTEC and L3 Qualifications – Thursday 13th August 2026
- GCSE and L1/2 Qualifications – Thursday 20th August 2026
Under no circumstances will exam results be given out over the phone or by email.
