Dear Parents and Carers,
On Friday 15th December 2023, the English Department have arranged to take 150 Y10 and 11 students to see a production of ‘Macbeth’ at The Dock Theatre in Liverpool. This is an evening performance leaving DHFS by coach at 4pm and returning to school at 12:00am (midnight).
This is an exciting opportunity for our students to watch a production of their GCSE set Shakespeare text, with a cast including Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort from the Harry Potter films) and India Varma (Luther and Game of Thrones) as Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. Students that have visited the theatre with us before to watch their set texts often tell us that it completely changes the way they enjoy Shakespeare at school and beyond.
The cost of this visit, including theatre ticket and coach fare is £31.05. DHFS is committed to supporting families who may have experienced financial difficulties and believe our cultural trips should be accessible to all, so for Pupil Premium students the cost of this trip is reduced to £7.76. 20% of the places on this trip will be reserved for Pupil Premium students. Tickets will be allocated by ballot.
